Jackie was the last of her friends to get her period right before her thirteenth birthday and can remember feeling excited that it had finally arrived. The youngest of two girls, she skipped pads and began using tampons immediately.

Her own daughter, now 11, is anxious about what’s to come with puberty and longs for an exact timeline so she can prepare. This, coupled with a recently developed sensitivity to the tampon Jackie had used her entire life became driving forces in the founding of Ashlyn Lee.

Previously, Jackie spent close to two decades in media and advertising first in marketing and eventually running revenue and client success teams for various global B2B and B2C brands. Prior to that, she was a professional actress and singer. 

She is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan where she received a BFA in Musical Theatre and recently joined the board of The Author Experience, an organization dedicated to the transformative power of storytelling. Along with her beautiful daughter, she resides in Manhattan with her husband, puppy and two cats.

Jennifer got her period at age 12 and remembers her mom giving her bulky pads from her own bathroom, which she used with great discomfort until she finally figured out how to use a tampon.

She now has a 10-year old daughter who has begged her to buy pads she can carry in her backpack just in case and openly asks tons of questions about periods, tampons and development. Jennifer encourages both of her kids to ask anything and always answers honestly with the hope that they always feel they can come to her. It often makes for hilarious dinnertime conversation.

Prior to launching Ashlyn Lee, Jennifer spent 13 years in the financial services industry, first heading up marketing and investor relations at 2 different fund managers, and then as a recruiter, helping various hedge funds source talent. She graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a BA in History and received an MBA and a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University, and she is a board member of the Covenant House of New York. Jennifer’s other child is an eight-year old boy who now knows more about periods than any of his peers.

Jeff has never had a period, but as a husband and now the CFO of Ashlyn Lee, he has become an expert on flow, absorbency and applicators. He has been sent to buy tampons on many occasions because his wife just can’t seem to organize herself and stay stocked and sees Ashlyn Lee as a way to help both the women in his life stay prepared.

Jeff spent 23 years as a global macro/EM portfolio manager and Senior Partner at Caxton Associates LP, a leading macro focused hedge fund. In 2018, he left that role and became a full-time angel investor, building a diversified portfolio of over 50 private investments. Jeff takes an active role with many of these founders to assist them with advice, introductions and mentorship as they build out their companies. Jeff received a B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University (1988), and an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business (1994). Since 2010, he has served on the Investment Committees at Lehigh University ($1.4B+ Endowment) and the Peddie School (Advisory Trustee & Former Chair of IC - $370M+ Endowment).

Malina Malkani, MS, RDN, CDN, is a registered dietitian nutritionist and trusted nutrition expert in local and national media outlets and publications including U.S. News and World Report, Sirius XM Doctor Radio, Newsweek, Insider, Well + Good, HuffPost, CNN, and Food Network.

She was an off-the-charts late bloomer and grew a couple of inches in height even after she got to college. A single mom of three girls, ages 7, 8 and 10, she finds herself regularly fielding all manner of female-anatomy-related questions, usually in the car or at bedtime.

Malina’s nutrition consulting company and private practice ( is dedicated to providing parents with tools, recipes, and programs that make it easier to feed the entire family.

She is also the Director of Nutrition at Rejuvenan, a personalized, digital wellness and telemedicine platform, an author and the mom behind the popular Instagram account,

She holds an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and an MS in clinical nutrition from NYU.


Zoë Bisbing, MSW, LCSW is a licensed psychotherapist and social justice activist. She is the director of Body-Positive Therapy NYC and the founder of The Full Bloom Project, a body-positive parenting resource. She loves teaching parents and professionals how to effectively create spaces where children of all ages, sizes, and gender expressions can naturally boost immunity to our appearance-obsessed culture and decrease risk for disordered eating and body image injury.


Zoë holds a Master of Social Work from New York University, a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College, and a certification in Family-Based Treatment from the Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders. A native New Yorker, Zoë lives in Manhattan with her husband, three children, and two beloved dogs.

 Bonin Bough

Bonin has been responsible for some of the most successful organization transformations, and the rapid growth of some of the world's most-loved billion-dollar brands including Oreo, Cadbury's, Pepsi, Gatorade and Frito-Lay. Most recently, as the Chief Growth Officer of SheaMoisture, he helped grow the business by close to 50% in 12 months leading to the company being acquired by Unilever for close to $1 billion dollars.

During his time as Chief Media Officer at Mondelez International, Bonin managed over $3 Billion dollars in media spend, making him the seventh largest media buyer in the world. Highlights from his tenure include shifting the organization from just-3% to over-32% digital spend - adding $2 Billion in top line net revenue and $300m in bottom line savings. He helped brands like Sour Patch Kids become the fastest growing candy brand in the world. When he added eCommerce to his role, he grew online sales from $65m - $265m in the 18 months that he ran it. Before that he led digital globally for PepsiCo and built two global digital agencies prior to that one for IPG.

He has been inducted into the Advertising Hall of Achievement.  Jeremy Krell

Jeremy currently oversees provider and clinical initiatives at quip, the oral health and subscription electric toothbrush company. Jeremy also practices dentistry part-time, sits on the Boards of healthcare and dental startups (including: Floss Bar, Denti.AI, PatientPlus, Verena Solutions, and Voyant), and is an angel investor. Jeremy has a 15+ year proven track record with startups through several successful multi-million dollar fundraises and acquisitions. 

Jeremy started his career with three web and graphic design startups and moved into a luxury good and commodity venture, DormAid, for college students. He later founded a venture incubator, CEO in A Box, and led strategic provider innovation and development at Oscar, health insurance, following his MBA at Chicago Booth.

Jeremy lives with his wife, daughter, and a pug in Jersey City, NJ. He enjoys playing and following professional tennis, having attended all US Opens since he was born. Jeremy is a foodie and has been vegan for 10 years, before it was cool.

Lisa Scotto is an accomplished marketing and sales executive with demonstrated success in devising strategy for the media and entertainment industry. Expertise includes leading acquisition efforts, creating new revenue models, securing partnerships, and solving complex business problems. She has successfully leveraged brand equity and strategic thinking to create inroads, expand territories, and engage new audiences. Highly collaborative leader with strong analytical and storytelling skills. Lisa thrives in an empowering, creative and transparent culture in organizations that reward hard work, achievement and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Lisa is currently SVP, Sales & Sponsorships at Superfly. She has spent much of her career at The Walt Disney Company, and has held positions at the World Economic Forum, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, 4A's and Crain Communications.
